Frank Lloyd Wright Millard House Highland Park IL Living Room

The 3,013-square-foot home follows the Arts and Crafts-style aesthetic typical of the Prairie School model in which it was designed. The flowing living areas of the home are furnished with warm hardwood floors and trim, and admit greenery of the wooded corner lot through many decorative leaded-glass windows.

Outside, the home draws interest from the unique second-floor cantilevered bedrooms. Built in 1906, the home was added to the National Historic Register in 1982.

Ironically, Frank Lloyd Wright's Pasadena, California, Millard House is on the market as well. Dubbed "La Miniatura," FLW believed that the home brilliantly reflected his intention to create “a distinctly genuine expression of California in terms of modern industry and American life.”
It is on the market for $4.95 million. Details @ http://www.santamonicapropertyblog.com/?page_id=3193

Beautiful house by THE architect. $1.25m is the price of a 1br condo in Manhattan. The house is spacious and open with good flow. The exterior seems top heavy though. But a FLW house is a brand by itself.
